“Digital economy” is an economy that is based on information and communication technologies (ICTs) which affects all the sectors of economic and social activities including education. In the digital economy, universities play a significant role in shaping economies and societies. Universities generate and disseminate knowledge, develop human capital through teaching and learning activities, drive technological progress and economic growth through research and innovation. In the 13thAUNILO Meeting, we will discuss about university library’ activities that support ASEAN’s digital economy strategy including digital literacy, open educational resources (OER), and massive open online courses (MOOCs) along with the copyright issues. Thus, AUNILO Training the Trainers Workshop for this year is about “Creating a MOOC for Library Instruction using edX Platform”. The purpose of this workshop is to enhance the efficacy of ASEAN university libraries and increase our library roles in the digital economy era.

Through this training program, AUNILO hopes to bring the competency of participating librarians, information specialists, IT and Audiovisual personnel to a higher level in the area of massive open online course (MOOC) development.
